To whom it may concern,

Aging has been slowed and healthy lifespan prolonged in many disparate animal models (C. elegans, Drosophila, Ames dwarf mice, etc.). Thus, assuming there are common fundamental mechanisms, it should also be possible to slow aging in humans.

Our friend and colleague, Dr. Richard Hanson, his lab at Case Western Reserve and Cleveland Clinic Researchers bred a “Mighty Mouse”, which is very recent and growing proof-in-principle that deleterious aging can be overcome, or even stopped, when the discovery was made during lab research designed to study the metabolic role of the PEPCK-C enzyme in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, which is normally not over-expressed to these levels endogenously.  read more »

It is clear to me from my work with primate caloric restriction, the latest genetic engineering breakthroughs and with each transgenic mouse as proof of principle, we now can extend the healthy life span of lower animals, including mammals. It is my strong belief that there is no reason to think we couldn't do the same today with humans.  read more »
